STATE CLIMATOLOGIST DECLARES THE WORST DROUGHT IN 60 YEARS IS OVER, DROUGHT  AND WATER PLANNING CONTINUES

While it seemed to linger forever, the drought is finally history for the Lone Star State. After years of being high and dry (high temperatures and dry conditions), most of Texas is celebrating an end to the drought including the welcome changes in the Brazos River basin. BE AWARE OF POTENTIAL WATERBORNE ILLNESSES
In the United States, getting sick from water is thankfully very uncommon. But be careful. While waterborne diseases are rare, they are definitely a threat, especially in the warm summer months. BOATER EDUCATION COURSES STILL AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER
There’s no reason for a “crash” course when you can play it safe. The Brazos River Authority still has boater safety courses lined up this summer at both Lake Granbury and Lake Limestone. The courses are designed for boaters age 13 and older. For more, click here.
WATERFOWL HUNTING BLIND SITES TO BE OFFERED AT BRA RESERVOIRS
Have a hankering to hunt? The Brazos River Authority is offering drawings for hunting blind sites at its three reservoirs, Lakes Granbury, Limestone and Possum Kingdom. You can enjoy the chance to hunt at various locations on these reservoirs, some of which will be open to hunters for the first time in years. Click here for drawing dates and times.
